Journées du Patrimoine

Another interesting manifestation happening on the site of Shallah is that of the Journées de Patrimoine. It is inspired by the European heritage days where access is open to the archaeological and historical sites and to the general public, where mediating guides are available to take people on tours, and where cultural events take place around the city. It is organized for 3 or 4 days in the spring of each year by an NGO named Rabat Salé Mémoire in the cities of Rabat and Salé. There has been 3 editions so far.

On the site of Shallah cultural/mediating guides take locals and tourists free of charge into the site of Shallah among many other sites. The visitors may chose among different circuits targeting different periods of occupation and construction of the site and may attend the different events taking place.
